April 22nd 2019 is EARTH DAY!
And what better way of celebrating than reminding ourselves what a beautiful place it is than this rousing number from the founder of British psych pop group, NIRVANA?
Earth Day is now a global event each year, and its organisers cite more than billion people in 192 countries now taking part in what is the largest civic-focused day of action in the world.
It is a day of political action and civic participation. People march, sign petitions, meet with their elected officials, plant trees, clean up their towns and roads. Corporations and governments use it to make pledges and announce sustainability measures. Faith leaders, including Pope Francis, connect Earth Day with protecting God’s greatest creations, humans, biodiversity and the planet that we all live on.
And we can sing, too!
Patrick Campbell Lyons’ “The World Is A Beautiful Place” is a gorgeous and very hummable sentiment to our planet, to its diversity, ecology and humanity … older heads will be minded of The New Seeker’s 1971 hit ‘I’d Like To Teach The World to Sing’.

From the album ‘You Are A Cloud, I Am A Comet’, here’s “The World Is A Beautiful Place” (and yes, perhaps we should include bouncing ball lyrics!)
